'Twas the Night in the Stable 'Twas the night in the stable that stood all forlorn In the City of David a child was born ~ He lay in a manger no room at the inn The birth of our Saviour, Jesus, the King! They wrapped Him in cloths on a warm bed of hay And settled Him softly in the manger to lay ~ Where shepherds and wise men came from afar Led by the light of a bright shining star. Praising and glorifying the new-born King And presenting their gifts, they came unto Him ~ For God, in His grace, sent the birth of His Son To bring peace on earth and bless everyone. As the angels in Heaven look down from above Giving glory to God for His gift of love ~ Away in a manger the Saviour does lay As news of a child has been born on this day! The birth of Jesus, our Saviour and King, He'll live in our hearts if we let Him in ~ As we remember the truth of this time When God sent His Son to save mankind. 'Twas the night in the stable that stood all forlorn In the City of David our Saviour was born ~ His bed was a manger and there He did lay; As we celebrate the spirit of Christmas day! © Christina 10th December, 2001
